Re: The Brick - Straight Key Project

Machined a new lever arm with a 3/8 inch step down at the knob end. This will lower the knob to the table top by about 3/8 of an inch and give it a cool look.

Re: The Brick - Straight Key Project

Ordered some more metal yesterday. I'm going to experiment with increasing the size of the base to 3x4.5x.750 inches for more weight and stability. The base alone weighs 3 pounds. The finished key will be close to 3.5 pounds.

Re: Straight Key Kit

I would assume someone could go faster. Yes, I do realize that someone will want an assembled key. That is actually easier for me. No mis...

Straight Key Kit

How much interest would there be in an inexpensive ($60 including wood base and US shipping) straight key kit in which there would be a little more work on the part of the builder than just screwing everything together. Work would include drilling a few simple pre-marked holes, cutting thin brass st...

Re: Torsion Bar Key Project

The key is finished. Hooked up and ready to go. I polished it up and it really looks and feels nice. The project has 21 holes, 20 screws and 20 other unique parts. This was a chanllenging project for only using simple tools. I have a milling machine on the way so things will be much easier in the fu...
